Emily Davies died for me
My polling station's lovely! 5 minutes walk from my house, only slightly out of the way from the walk to the station, and has a nice garden (it's a community centre rather than a school)- I note their foxgloves are well out whereas mine's still just leaves. Are foxgloves biennial?

Also, polling station was completely deserted apart from the poll workers- has *anybody* been canvassed this time? Or do they usually not bother for the Euro elections?

I'm always amused by the way you have to produce proof of address and ID to join the library or set up a bank account or whatever, but to vote you just wander up and they hand you the paper...

I got leafletted? I think they have been canvassing, just when I've been out.

I got leafletted, yes. That's a good point, maybe they canvassed during the day.

I'm just used to people from the parties being at (the-mandated-minimum-distance-from) the polls and asking to see your card, so they can go round in the evening and prod people who said they'd vote for them but haven't gone yet [*]- the lack of that was what made me think they maybe hadn't canvassed- if you don't know who might vote for you there's no point bugging people at the polling station!

[*]I did a shift of that myself in the '97 election, which was mildly interesting- several people would let me see their card but not the Tory chap, or vice versa.

One very polite Conservative was there when I emerged from the polling station, but it was only just past 7 am!

Hardly any info here - leaflets from the local councillors but I think only one for the European election. And it was quiet at the polling station too.

We only had the European election, and did get leafletted- the main parties, the Greens, and a couple of the creepier ones, I think (most of them went straight into the recycling).

We had leaflets for the European election from the Conservatives, the Lib Dems and UKIP (possibly also from the Greens and the BNP; Labour is almost dead where I live), but as far as I remember nothing from local councillors. And if they've been canvassing, I must have been out - though my DH hasn't mentioned it. I know the Lib Dems didn't manage to get any organised.

We got leafletted by several of them- not the BNP, I think. Of course it's easier to find a kid who can be bribed by a few sweets to shove leaflets through letterboxes than find enough people with enough time to do a proper systematic canvass, and a spotty one's pretty useless really.
